2018 Goals and Resolutions

There are definitely mixed feelings on settings goals and resolutions at the start of the new year. Some argue that you should be trying to better yourself all year round, not just when a new year starts. Which is true! But I like the new year being a point to stop and see how you’re doing on all your goals. Last year my goals were to drink more water, and to lose some weight. Well, even though sometimes I did lose sight of drinking more water, overall I think I was definitely more conscious about it. I also ended up losing 9lbs (at least before the holidays hit)!! I want to keep those resolutions on my list (or at least the things I did to work towards them), because I don’t want to lose site of what I’ve been doing this past year.

2018 goals and resolutions

No that it is a whole new year, a clean fresh 365 page book of whatever we want to make it, Matt and I decided to make a list of our 2018 goals and resolutions so that we can keep ourselves accountable!

Maggie’s list:

  • Continue trying to drink more water
  • Continue working out 5-6 days a week (tone up by June wedding!)
  • Continue meal prepping
  • Start each day with positive vibes – think about what I am grateful for
  • Care less about what people think
  • Blog and/or vlog at least twice a month
  • Talk to family more – tell them I love them more
  • Read at least 12 books
  • Unplug more while spending time with others
  • Start learning German
  • Share more personal things/stories about us AND meet more people
  • Clean out my closet – truly getting rid of things I don’t wear or need
  • Get bedroom furniture
2018 goals and resolutions

Matt’s list:

  • Limit drinking to 1-2x/month during busy season
  • Write a blog post(s)
  • Start working out in the morning
  • Build an arcade cabinet and a wood shed
  • Get parts of my CPA
  • Curse less
  • Eat slower
  • Stop having road rage
  • Cook more advanced meals
  • Sky dive
  • Learn how to make wine & make a batch
  • Pick up a new hobby
  • Get my pistol license/buy a gun
2018 goals and resolutions

Our combined list:

  • Start doing photography gigs/start a business
  • Build benches for our sunroom
  • Volunteer more
  • Run a half marathon
  • Start meditating
  • Find a church
  • Have a sit down meal together at least once a week
  • Travel to at least 3 new states on our 50 states bucket list
  • Travel to at least 2 new countries
  • Take a mountain and/or camping trip
  • Learn more about our photography equipment
  • Explore/share more of our home city!
